I got out today, to say goodbye to Coney Island before it dissapears, and meet a group of folks gathering to celebrate nice n” evil’s birthday. It was a bright, sunny day, and felt wonderful to be outside. I traveled in with my droogs Ken Soulhuntre (who braved the discomforts of “the big blue room” on my behalf), and Sir Lone Wolf, who provided me with the defining moment of the day.
Before I get to that, a moment to express how good it was to see people, and my regrets to those I missed when I had to go- specifically girlfriday79. I was also especially pleased that Sweet Candy Mike was there to spend a little time with, as well as Irishlass and many others.
But the best moment came early. As lunch was wrapping up, the majority of people got together to go do a few things that I could not join them in- roller coasters, ferris wheels, etc. Sir Lone_Wolf, who would have been in attendance regardless of my presence, stayed at our table as the others left., leaving only Soulhuntre, Kimiko, and myself behind. Just making certain he was not lingering out of some sense of misplaced obligation, I mentioned he could “take off with the pack” .
“This is my pack.” he stated.
I cannot explain how good that made me feel. Thank you, droog.

I’m so sorry I missed you yesterday…traffic was brutal.
But…
I did chip my front tooth ever so slightly on the Cyclone….and I like to think that perhaps it was divine intervention on your behalf :>
It’s true…
i couldnt slap you around personally, so I invoked the eldritch powers of aging roller coasters to manifest for me.
You know, when I sold my soul to the Powers of Dilapidated Carny Rides, it seemed like a better deal at the time. At least I finally got something outta the deal.
Swine, all of ’em… swine.
