I love this season, and today is the first day I’ve really gotten to feel it, as if there were dry leaves swirling around my boots when I walk. <\/p>\n
The air smells right, at last. <\/p>\n
On candystripe legs spiderman comes
\nSoftly through the shadow of the evening sun
\nStealing past the windows of the blissfully dead
\nLooking for the victim shivering in bed
\nSearching out fear in the gathering gloom and<\/p>\n
Suddenly! a movement in the corner of the
\nRoom! and there is nothing i can do when i
\nRealise with fright that the spiderman is having
\nMe for dinner tonight<\/p>\n
Quietly he laughs and shaking his head creeps
\nCloser now closer to the foot of the bed and
\nSofter than shadow and quicker than flies his
\nArms are all around me and his tongue in my
\nEyes <\/p>\n
“be still be calm be quiet now my precious
\nBoy don’t struggle like that or i will only love
\nYou more for it’s much too late to get away or
\nTurn on the light the spiderman is having you
\nFor dinner tonight”<\/p>\n
And i feel like i’m being eaten by a thousand
\nMillion shivering furry holes and i know that in
\nThe morning i will wake up in the shivering cold
\nAnd the spiderman is always hungry…<\/i><\/p>\n
